Purpose:

 

The Children’s Director’s primary responsibility is to facilitate a comprehensive disciple making and growing program for children (birth through 5th grade) and their parents. The principal task is to assist and encourage children to establish a heart of love for God and have a firm foundation in their faith.  The Director will recruit and train leaders who will touch children's lives with God's love, teach them God's Word and provide fellowship with God's people.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

The Children's Director will give oversight to this ministry, supervise all corresponding volunteers, and provide spiritual and emotional care for the children of Greenwood Baptist Church.

 

Primary duties include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate and plan regularly with Children's Leadership Team.

• Organize training and planning sessions for children’s leaders/workers.

• Encourage, supervise, and assist children’s leaders, meeting regularly with them to discuss concerns, answer questions, give encouragement, and listen.

• Develop, post and enforce policies pertinent to the children's  ministry department.

• Approve children's ministry programs, curriculum, activities,  and disbursement of funds for supplies and projects.

• Coordinate activities and volunteers and participate in all special events and activities that pertain to children such as Fall Festival, Spring Fling, VBS, Ministry Arts Camp, Children's Summer Camp, Children's Summer Wednesday programs, summer campouts, Parent's night out, Christmas party, etc.

• Communicate all information related to Children's Ministry by getting details to appropriate points of contact (bulletin, newsletter, announcements, handouts, emails).
